Design Engineer – Compressors
The Asset Delivery function within the Assets and Infrastructure (AAI) Pillar of Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to a Senior Design Engineer, the Design Engineer will have the responsibility for the detailed design of CAPEX and OPEX projects across the gas Transmission and Distribution Network, as well as providing support to reactive operational works that require design input. The Design Engineer will manage all aspects of the design and review design risks associated with outsourced engineering service providers, ensuring a high-quality design service is delivered to the Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and have knowledge of gas related process design. The Design Engineer will work closely with C&I Design Engineers, outsourced C&I partners and Technical Assurance function ensuring alignment of the Design Delivery process from end to end to meet overall project or programme timelines.
EU Affairs & Policy Manager
The Regulation function is responsible for ensuring Gas Networks Ireland is compliant with all its regulatory obligations in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and in the UK. It is also responsible for the operation and development of the retail and wholesale gas markets in the Republic of Ireland in conjunction with the CRU and market participants. The Regulatory Framework function includes Regulatory Affairs, Wholesale Market, European Affairs and Policy. Reporting to the Regulatory Framework Manager, the EU Affairs & Policy Manager will work closely with key regulatory, European and national gas market stakeholders to ensure that all the EU Directives, Regulations and Network Codes are adopted in a timely and efficient manner and EU policy supports a secure and decarbonised gas market at national level. Leading a team of six people, a key challenge in the role will be to further develop the Company’s strategic presence and interactions with key European (ENTSOG, GIE, GD4S, Eurogas and the EU Commission) and national (e.g. DECC, CRU, ESRI, WEI, Ibec and Chambers) stakeholders and policymakers in the context of an evolving energy market.. A critical success factor in the role will be the ability to forge and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help deliver GNI’s strategic objectives. Please note the role will involve occasional travel to Brussels.
Meta-Data & Records Administrator
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end-to-end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Reporting to the Project Information Lead, the Meta-Data & Records Administrator will be responsible for the day to day activities associated with the materials incoming inspection process as well as supporting the project information team.
Business Intelligence Analyst
The Data Competency Centre (DCC) delivers centralised ownership and oversight of activities which manage, measure and improve GNI’s data. The DCC advise on the governance, design and management of data and monitor resulting data quality. Within the DCC, GNI data management policy and procedure is created, data architecture is managed, and business intelligence initiatives are prioritised in line with enterprise wide needs. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the creation of on-demand enterprise reports to meet GNI business intelligence demands as well as supporting the delivery of key BI initiatives and reports to facilitate informed decision making and assist in the effective management of the business. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for the support of GNI business users in the use of SharePoint solutions within GNI through direct management, best practice methodologies and a supported superuser network.
