Senior Investment Analyst
The Portfolio Office function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the delivery of all capital and operational work within the organisation, enabling it to make key decisions that will optimise the overall delivery of GNI’s portfolio of work. The office provides support and oversight in the areas of Investment Planning and Governance, Integrated Delivery Planning, Portfolio Programme Management, Connections Coordination and Contractor Performance; whilst also acting as the gate keeper and critical interface between potential investment programmes and commercial opportunities; and the core departments responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of GNI’s assets. The Investment Planning and Governance team area within Portfolio office is responsible for development of the capital & maintenance investment plans & budgets, monitoring performance of the plans, ensuring that the business is operating to maximise its capital efficiencies and serves to ensure that Programmes are delivering business benefits. Reporting to the Capital Budgeting and Governance Lead, the Senior Asset Investment Analyst will be responsible for driving the development of the annual capital budget, managing the capital budgetary performance reporting to GNI Executive and preparation of the Capital Commitments for presentation to the Department.
Large I&C Sales Engineer
The Business Development function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategies of Gas Networks Ireland to ensure sustainable growth into the future. The Customer Acquisition Team is part of the Business Development Team and is focused on increasing demand by maximising the potential of the existing gas network by encouraging additional connections to the Distribution and Transmission networks across the industrial, commercial, transport (compressed natural gas) and housing sectors. The Customer Acquisition Team is also responsible for proactively seeking opportunities to connect biomethane producers (Anaerobic Digestion facilities) to enable injection of renewable gas in to the gas network to assist in decarbonising the gas network. The Large I&C Sales Engineer will be responsible for proactively identifying additional industrial connection opportunities (both new and existing developments) while fostering best-in-class sales techniques to convert opportunities into contracts to connect to the gas network. Reporting to the Large I&C Sales Manager, the Large I&C Sales Engineer will demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness, industry technical expertise and have a customer centric approach with the ability to nurture enduring relationships with key decision makers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with a proven track record in dealing with energy projects from planning to contract execution.
Hydrogen Technical Analyst
Reporting to the Technical Manager – Hydrogen Programme, the Hydrogen Technical Analyst, will play a key role in supporting the demonstration of network readiness and delivery of all technical/ safety aspects pertaining to the hydrogen programme for Gas Networks Ireland. The jobholder will actively collaborate and forge relationships with other business units in the business and external stakeholders to ensure that all technical and safety considerations associated with the injection, transportation and storage of hydrogen on the network has been considered and comprehensively addressed, and delivered in a systematic manner.
3x Design Engineer – Mechanical Tx/Dx
Gas Networks Ireland is now seeking to appoint three Mechanical Design Engineer’s to work within the Transmission Price Control, Biomethane and Compressed Natural Gas and Compressor Station design teams. The Asset Delivery function within the Assets and Infrastructure (AAI) Pillar of Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to a Senior Design Engineer, the Design Engineer will have the responsibility for the detailed design of CAPEX projects across GNI’s Compressor Station Assets and associated Transmission Network (TX) sites, Distribution Network (DX) sites including renewable gas networks entry facilities, as well as providing support to reactive operational works that require design input. The Design Engineer will manage all aspects of the design and review design risks associated with outsourced engineering service providers, ensuring a high-quality design service is delivered to the Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and preferably have knowledge of gas related process design. The Design Engineer will work closely with the C&I Design Engineers, outsourced C&I partners and Technical Assurance function ensuring alignment of the Design Delivery process from end to end to meet overall project or programme timelines.
Innovation Engineer
The Technical Development & Technical Training (TDTT) function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for researching, developing and proving technical solutions for introduction onto GNI’s network or incorporation as part of GNI’s operating methods, as well as for ensuring our people have the necessary technical skills and competencies to safely build, operate and maintain our assets. Encompassing the three pillars of Materials Development, Innovation Delivery and Technical Training, Testing & Competency Development; the TDTT function brings together all the capabilities needed to take network innovation initiatives and new programme concepts and then screen, test and develop these through prototype and pilot programmes; before handing over to BAU. The function also has the capability to oversee and manage the end to end technical competence and training requirements for the core organisation. Reporting to the Innovation Project Manager, the Innovation Engineer will be responsible for the technical delivery of Gas Innovation Fund (GIF) approved innovation projects, through the full innovation lifecycle process. The Innovation Engineer will have responsibility for the delivery of specified new concept programmes which require technology, methodology and/or operations proving ahead of business implementation. This is a key technical role within the TDTT team and the successful candidate will need to utilise a multidisciplinary approach, in order to bring wide-ranging innovation projects through multiple stages including concept proving, prototyping, piloting and business change support.
