Cyber Security - Security Operations Centre (SOC) Lead

Based in Cork or Dublin and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, the SOC Lead is accountable for leading GNI’s internal Security Operations Centre, managing a team of security analysts, and ensuring operational excellence across detection and response platforms. This includes managing ticket workload, defining and refining SOC processes and procedures, and governing relationships with the external SOC managed service provider. The role drives performance across Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR (and its managed service), and Network Detection & Response (NDR), focusing on improving detection fidelity, reducing false positives, and achieving measurable improvements. In addition, the SOC Lead acts as CSIRT Lead during major incidents, coordinating P1/P2 incident response, ensuring adherence to the Incident Response Plan (IRP), managing communications, containment, eradication, and recovery activities, and leading post-incident reviews to embed lessons learned into continuous improvement.

Cyber Security Risk and Vulnerability (RVM) Lead

Based in Cork or Dublin and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, RVM Lead role leads the enterprise-wide Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) programme, ensuring proactive identification, assessment, prioritisation, and remediation of cyber risks across IT, OT, and cloud environments. The Risk and Vulnerability Management Lead drives continuous improvement in risk posture through advanced threat hunting, security assessments, cyber threat intelligence integration, attack surface management, insider threat detection, incident response readiness, and robust reporting and metrics. Acting as the subject matter expert for vulnerability management and cyber resilience, the role collaborates with technical and business stakeholders to safeguard critical assets and enable secure business operations.

Network Security Lead

Based in Cork or Dublin and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, this Senior Security Analyst (Network Security Lead) role is central to GNI’s mission to strengthen perimeter, edge, and internal segmentation controls, reducing attack surface and enabling secure change at pace. As a senior individual contributor, you will act as the technical lead for firewall architecture, engineering, and operations across on-premises and cloud-connected IT/OT/ET environments - designing policy, assuring high availability and performance, driving secure remote access, and integrating controls with detection/response and vulnerability management. The role follows a hybrid work pattern, requires participation in an on-call rota, and may involve occasional out-of-hours work. You’ll provide day‑to‑day guidance and performance input for junior analysts, ensuring both operational excellence and knowledge transfer within the team.

Security Analyst (Cyber Security)

Based in Cork or Dublin and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, The Security Analyst is a key member of GNI’s Security Operations team, responsible for day-to-day security monitoring, incident response, and the administration of security infrastructure across both IT and OT environments. This role combines hands-on technical work with proactive threat detection, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of security processes. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Security Analyst helps ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of GNI’s critical assets, while supporting the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

Senior TX Inspector

The Health, Safety, Quality, (HSQ) function within GNI is responsible for safety policy, quality assurance and compliance across all areas of the business.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior TX Inspector is responsible for the overall management, development, execution, and performance of the annual risk-based audit and inspection programme across multiple asset types, including Transmission (TX), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Biomethane, and emerging assets and networks.
This is a strategically focused leadership role that integrates deep technical expertise with forward planning and delivery of risk-based audit and inspection programmes, ensuring alignment with both operational priorities and long-term strategic objectives.
Supports cross-functional collaboration, promotes continuous improvement, and contributes to maintaining alignment with organisational standards, industry practices, and regulatory frameworks.

Design Engineer – CNG & Biogas

The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. The Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.

Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer (CNG & Biogas), the Design Engineer will have responsibility for the preliminary and detailed design of CNG/RNG automotive refuelling facilities and biogas and renewable gas connections, including oversight of outsourced engineering service providers. The Design Engineer will manage all aspects of the design and review design risks associated with outsourced engineering service providers, ensuring a high-quality design service is delivered to the Networks Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and have knowledge of gas related process design. The Design Engineer will work closely with other discipline Design Engineers, outsourced partners and the Technical Assurance function ensuring alignment of the Design Delivery process from end to end to meet overall project or programme timelines. Sustainability is a key feature to incorporate into the design process to deliver low carbon designs.
