How to disconnect from the gas network
If you want to disconnect your meter only, you should contact your gas supplier (you will find their contact details on your gas bill). They will deregister you as a customer and agree an appointment that suits you for Gas Networks Ireland to come and disconnect the meter. The work will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
If you are planning to insulate the exterior of your home, we may need to alter the gas meter location to facilitate the insulation before the meter can be disconnected. If this is the case, please follow the same process highlighted below and we will organise for our field estimator to call to your property and discuss options and costs with you.
If you want to disconnect your meter and remove the gas service pipes please follow the steps below.
