Check online to see if you can connect your property to gas to make an application, or call our Businesslink team.

The site visit

Our sales representative visits your business premises to meet you and your mechanical installer/plumber to gather all information and requirements.

1 week

Provide requested information

This includes for example: meter location, gas pressure, wayleave requirements, and estimated annual consumption (EAC).

Quotation issued

Once we have your information we work on your quotation and contract. The timeframe depends on the size of your business.

1 - 8 weeks depending on your business size

Quotation received, make the payment, and sign the contract

You can pay online, by cheque, credit card or EFT and return the signed contract to us.

Register with a natural gas supplier and contact your mechanical installer

Road Opening Licence application (if needed)

We will apply for this if required.

Work scheduled and completed

When we receive the signed contract and payment, we schedule the installation works to bring the service pipe up to your property's meter location.

4 - 12 weeks depending on business size, road opening licence (if required), local authority

Works for larger gas users require more extensive works.

Installation works certified

Your mechanical installer tests your equipment and pipework to complete the Declaration of Conformance which you provide to us. Your gas supplier then requests a meter fit from us.

Meter fitted and turned on

Our meter fitter visits your site to check the Declaration of Conformance and ensure everything is in order. Once satisfied, we will fit the gas meter and turn it on.

1 week after request

You are connected!

Any reinstatement works will be carried out when the job is completed.

The total timeframe is up to 12 weeks for small and medium businesses and up to 20 weeks for large businesses
