Estimation Engineer
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to the Estimation Manager, the Estimation Engineer is responsible for producing detailed designs and drawings, estimating the cost of projects, identifying work prerequisites including materials requirements, applying standardised design templates and developing bespoke design solutions for new designs where appropriate. The successful candidate will have: the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams. The Estimation Engineer will also perform site visits as necessary.
Planning Analyst
The Planning Analyst is responsible for the ongoing management of financial models, assisting in the delivery of the budget, forecasting and corporate plan process. Reporting into the Planning & Budgeting Manager, the Planning Analyst will also ensure alignment with the relevant Price Controls.
Project Delivery Engineer – AGI Programmes
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead (AGI’s), the Project Delivery Engineer will be responsible for supporting the end to end planning and delivery of specific projects/programmes of work issued to their respective workstream by the Portfolio Office. The Project Delivery Engineer will work closely with key internal stakeholders across the Portfolio Office, Asset Management, Technical Development & Technical Training, Design Delivery and Project Services teams; to drive the successful development and delivery of these projects from Gate 2 through to Gate 4.
DPO Assurance Lead
This role will report to Gas Networks Ireland Data Protection Officer, the DPO Assurance Lead role is responsible for supporting the delivery and implementation of a Data Protection service across Gas Networks Ireland. This role will assume responsibility for supporting the data protection of customer, employee and all other personal information.
Project Delivery Engineer (DX Programmes)

Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead, the Project Delivery Engineer will be responsible for supporting the end to end planning and delivery of DX high volume projects/programmes issued to their respective workstream by the Portfolio Office. The Project Delivery Engineer will work closely with key internal stakeholders across the Portfolio Office, Asset Management, Technical Development & Technical Training, Design Delivery and Project Services teams; to drive the successful development and delivery of these projects from Gate 2 through to Gate 4.
Senior Pipeline Safety Engineer
Reporting to the Process Safety Manager, the Senior Pipeline Safety Engineer, will assist with the implementation of third-party damage prevention strategy initiatives and measurement and analysis of third-party damage prevention performance in relation to GNI’s pipeline and related assets. This includes responding to third party transmission queries via the Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) process to proactively minimize the number of third-party damage incidents and reacting to any such incidents appropriately. Coordinate and assist in technical audits and quality reviews of non-routine operations (NRO). The role also includes coordinating emergency exercises and participating in GNI’s emergency preparedness activities including maintaining/ testing the crisis management plan and capabilities. The role will have responsibility for ensuring the quality, completeness and timely provision of GIS pipeline mapping data; under license, to external third parties. The role will manage a team of technical personnel.
Hydrogen Commercial Manager
Reporting to the Hydrogen Programme Director, the Hydrogen Commercial Manager will provide deep subject matter expertise and guidance on the development of the hydrogen industry and the development and delivery of commercial initiatives to help accelerate the delivery of GNI’s Pathway to a Net Zero Carbon Network vision. The Hydrogen Commercial Manager will support the implementation of the Hydrogen Programme and the development of commercial solutions, business cases and work with relevant external bodies, organisations and policy makers to drive the Hydrogen Programme forward. A key part of the role will be working with internal and external stakeholders (Industry partners, Government Agencies, Regulatory Authorities, TSO’s, GDN’s, Academia etc.) to represent GNI interests and develop awareness of the role hydrogen can play in decarbonising Ireland energy system and the role the gas network can play therein. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating commercial opportunities and partnerships to promote innovation and development of hydrogen.
Reporting and Accounting Analyst
The Reporting & Accounting team are responsible for the delivery of all reporting and accounting processes and activities. Reporting to the Reporting and Accounting Lead, the Reporting & Accounting Analyst will ensure the delivery of month end reporting for fixed assets, monthly financial reporting, supporting statutory reporting and contractual reporting or other stakeholder reporting. The role requires technical accounting expertise, excellent systems experience combined with solid experience in a similar role.
Commercial Finance Analyst
The Commercial Finance function within Gas Networks Ireland Finance is responsible for ensuring the business remains commercially focused through its large customer accounts, managing the relationship with the CRU and other parties, Trading and Settlements, Demand Planning, Tariff setting and Price Control Reviews. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Analyst, the role will involve applying financial models to produce revenue and tariff information, preparing reports, papers and presentations for approval.
Price Control Manager
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Planning, the Price Control Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities in relation to the 5-year price control submissions to the utility regulators in ROI (CRU) and NI (UR). The Price Control Manager will work under the direction of the Price Control Steering Group and lead a cross functional team to co-ordinate all GNI price control activities. Outside of the 2-year revenue review submission preparation periods, the Price Control Manager will be responsible for tracking all agreed Price Control outcomes and reporting to and engaging regularly with the regulators. While Price Control will be a core focus of this role, the Price Control Manager will also support the Head of Strategy and Planning in relation to other functional activities as required.
Large I&C Sales Engineer
The Business Development function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategies of Gas Networks Ireland to ensure sustainable growth into the future. The Customer Acquisition Team is part of the Business Development Team and is focused on increasing demand by maximising the potential of the existing gas network by encouraging additional connections to the Distribution and Transmission networks across the industrial, commercial, transport (compressed natural gas) and housing sectors. The Customer Acquisition Team is also responsible for proactively seeking opportunities to connect biomethane producers (Anaerobic Digestion facilities) to enable injection of renewable gas in to the gas network to assist in decarbonising the gas network. The Large I&C Sales Engineer will be responsible for proactively identifying additional industrial connection opportunities (both new and existing developments) while fostering best-in-class sales techniques to convert opportunities into contracts to connect to the gas network. Reporting to the Large I&C Sales Manager, the Large I&C Sales Engineer will demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness, industry technical expertise and have a customer centric approach with the ability to nurture enduring relationships with key decision makers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with a proven track record in dealing with energy projects from planning to contract execution.
