The Role:
The IT team within Gas Networks Ireland is an integral part of the business providing operational, and customer-focused IT services. These services include solution delivery, service management, and infrastructure & operations management. These services are provided through a combination of in-house resources and external service providers.
The Project Delivery team within the IT team are responsible for delivering and maintaining a project delivery capability to enable the delivery of IT and Business projects to meet the needs of GNI. Reporting to the IT Project Delivery Manager, the Project Delivery Analyst is responsible for facilitating and championing internal processes to embed best practice methodologies to our portfolio of projects. The role will actively engage with Senior Project Managers within IT Project Delivery, as well as interfacing to other functions including Finance, Supply Chain, and the wider IT team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate weekly/monthly project delivery reports.
- Define, monitor and report on weekly and monthly KPIs.
- Ensure the procurement process is followed as appropriate in the project lifecycle. This includes drafting contracts from existing framework/templates, raising PRs, managing POs/receipts/timesheets and monitoring invoices.
- Champion the monthly finance update process, working closely with Senior Project Managers to provide support on capturing accurate accruals, actuals and forecasts.
- Provide support to Senior Project Managers on Oracle and project finance related queries.
- Manage SharePoint related tasks e.g. project site creation, access and resolution of issues.
- Manage the Joiners Movers Leavers process within IT Project Delivery.
- Proactively support and manage the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.
- On an ad hoc basis, the PMO Analyst may be required to take on Project Management responsibilities for smaller initiatives or assist Project or Programme Managers on larger projects and implementations.
- Other duties as required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant 3rd level qualification in Business, IT or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years Project Delivery Analyst experience.
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.
- Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions.
- Have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential. improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
- Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.
- Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
- Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skillset – Excel, PowerPoint in particular
- Oracle knowledge advantageous.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies advantageous.
